On the island of Lanzerote the work of the local artist Cezar Manrique is all over the island, I was quite taken by this work on my visit there and very inspired, this piece is a huge sculptor Cezar built as a tribute to the farm workers who manage to grow grapes and other crops in a unique way, the conditions on he island are very harsh, but by digging into the ground and making trenches they plant in these so as to make use of the moisture in the air in the early morning and avoid the harshness of the scorching sun.
